Halder portfolio company ANKER acquires POS service provider PORESY

With the acquisition of the software & hardware implementation and service provider PORESY, Halder portfolio company ANKER is continuing its growth path. With this additional building block, the Bielefeld-based company is developing into a holistic POS solution provider.

For more than a century, the name ANKER has been closely associated with the process chain at the POS. Under new management since 2015, the long-established company from Bielefeld is increasingly focusing on strategic development. Through the acquisition of the German POS service provider PORESY, ANKER is expanding its competencies and developing into a holistic POS solution provider.

The growing challenges of the increasingly digitalised market convinced ANKER's management that the future of the company also lies in returning to the brand's tradition as a holistic POS system provider for hardware and software. The company took the first step in this direction in 2020 with the acquisition of the software company LocaFox. Since then, the Berlin-based company has been supplementing ANKER’s product range with cloud-based software solutions for retailers and small and medium-sized businesses.

The acquisition of PORESY takes ANKER one important step further. With PORESY, ANKER is expanding its range of services to include software development, customising, implementation and long-term support for POS systems, including 24/7 first and second level support. ANKER is thus consistently taking the step from being a hardware expert to a full-service provider with comprehensive solution expertise at the POS, for customers of all sizes.

"We are delighted to be able to add another member to the ANKER family through the cooperation with PORESY and to strengthen the competencies of the ANKER Group in the software and service sector," explains Dr. Fabian Schuehle, Managing Director of the ANKER Group. "We would like to thank all those involved at ANKER, PORESY and LocaFox, without their outstanding work this transaction would not have been possible."

After the retirement of the company's founder Thomas Pluskat and the handover of the management to his successor Katja Schestakow, PORESY's customer base, which has grown over two decades, will benefit from the new setup and will continue to be looked after by the known 80 PORESY employees who have now been taken over by ANKER.

"By merging our companies, we want to continue our successful work in the interest of our clients," explains Katja Schestakow. "At the same time, we are looking forward to contributing our expertise as part of the ANKER Group to joint projects in the future, in order to offer our customers an even more attractive product and service portfolio around the POS."

Together with LocaFox and PORESY, ANKER focuses on the combination of contemporary hardware, such as self-checkout systems that are increasingly requested by customers, and combines these with the necessary software, an integration into existing IT infrastructure and a comprehensive range of services, from roll-out to accompanying support from a single source.

Mathias Fackelmeyer, Managing Partner at Halder, therefore summarizes: "The acquisition of PORESY is the logical next step in the strategic development of ANKER. In addition to strengthening the software competence and the broadening of the product & service offering associated with that, ANKER is now able to even better advise different customer groups according to their needs and to provide them with tailored solutions."
